Singapore | G4seven Immigration

From unparalleled city planning redefining the term "urban oasis" to its breathtaking superiority in all things tech, Singapore has earned the title of the "World's Greatest City" by CNN.

International students aspiring to complete their higher education in abroad, Singapore can become one of the best destination for them. The country offers a progressive and high quality education system with state-of-the-art facilities. The standard of education is excellent across all levels, starting right from the primary level. Apart from the public schools, Singapore also has 30+ international schools that follow the foreign education system for children of expatriates. The 6 autonomous universities of Singapore are ranked well globally and all other private institutes of higher education (PEIs) are regulated by the Council for Private Education (CPE). And among six universities, three of them are ranked in 2020 QS Universities ranking. Students from across the globe have started recognizing it as a viable study abroad destination as Asia begins its growth as the next international education hub. Apart from just education, it also offers students and residents top-notch facilities and a lifestyle that is considered among the best in the world.

Choosing Singapore as Study Destination

World-class in education, internationally acclaimed universities and affordable education costs - no wonder Singapore is fast emerging as a preferred global education hub. The Lion City was ranked seventh in INSEAD Global Innovation Index, third in IMD's 2014 World Competitiveness Rankings and the second in the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Report in 2014 and 2015. And in 2016, QS World University Rankings ranked the island nation, sixth on the list of the most compatible cities for students. These rankings were based on criteria such as universities, cost of living, standard of living, job opportunities and student lifestyle compatibility.

If you are considering studying abroad? Here are the top reasons, Why Singapore could be a great place for you.

Let's take a look…

  • Excellent education system

Because of Singapore's renown superiority in the field of education, employers increasingly seek out its graduates both in Asia and across the globe. Both NUS and Nanyang Technological University score higher in the QS World University rankings, due in no small part to their ability to attract top students and faculty from all over the world. The city's commitment to educational imperatives makes it one of the world's most desirable spots for students -- not only because of the education they receive while there, but also because of the many doors opened by a Singaporean degree.
  • Studying in Singapore is Quite Affordable
One of the main reasons due to which Indian Students prefer to study in Singapore is its Affordability. Because the study and living cost of Singapore is much affordable than other countries like USA, UK, Canada & Australia.
  • A Leading Global Business Hub
Ranked by the World Bank in 2016 as the easiest country to do business with, Singapore continues to attract investors and companies thanks to its "business-friendly" nature. It is no wonder that most multinational corporate giants of the world have their presence in Singapore as well. In short, there won't be any dearth of jobs in this country, which is quite a good reason for students to consider pursuing their higher education in Singapore
  • Home to many foreign universities
Singapore's increasing popularity as a business & education hub has attracted a lot of foreign universities of repute to set up their campuses here. S.P. Jain School of Global Management, ESSEC Business School, Queen Margaret University are a few foreign players who have set up base in this country.
  • Part- Time work opportunities
If you are a student on a tight budget, Singapore is the place to be as it has a great part-time work policy for working students. As per the Ministry of Manpower in Singapore, international students on a Student Pass are eligible to work part-time for 16 hours a week during the term of their courses and for unlimited hours during vacation period.
  • Multicultural Society
You will not feel alienated in this country as you will see a lot of Indian and Asian faces in Singapore. Singapore's multicultural society is composed of four major ethnic groups: the Chinese, Malays, Indians and smaller minority groups. The variety of religions is a direct reflection of the diversity of races living here. Singapore's principal religions are Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, and Christianity.
  • No language barrier - English spoken widely
Indian students studying in Singapore will not face any problem feeling at home as English widely spoken here and majority of Singaporeans can understand English. Even though the national language of Singapore is Malay, the 4 official languages are Malay, Mandarin, Tamil & English, thanks to the multi-racial nature of Singapore. Students won't have any difficulty communicating as English is the main language of business & administration.
  • Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS)
This scheme was introduced by the Singapore government for all international (non-Singaporean) students as a way to make the cost of tuition affordable. If you're an international student pursuing a full-time undergraduate/ diploma course, the government would subsidize (reduce) your course fee, if you sign an agreement where you commit to work in Singapore for at least 3 years after graduation.
