EDUCATION SYSTEM

Education System of NZ is solely based New Zealand Qualification Framework (NZQF) administers by New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA), a definitive source for accurate information about all quality assured qualifications, covering senior secondary school and tertiary education qualifications, and including all qualifications open to international students. The sole purpose of NZQF is to provide information about what knowledge and experience holders of qualifications can be expected to have, and about what further education and/or employment opportunities the qualification leads to.

The NZQF is fundamental to an integrated tertiary education system. Government tertiary funding subsidies and student loans and allowances are only for qualifications that are quality assured and on the NZQF. Student and graduate visas for international students are also only granted on the basis of study towards and achievement of qualifications on the NZQF.

NZQF has ten levels of qualification

  • Level 1, 2, 3, and 4- Certificates
  • Level 5 and 6 Diplomas
  • Level 7 Bachelor's Degree and graduate diploma

STUDENT VISA – NEW ZEALAND

Once you get approval in your study visa application, you can study in New Zealand for up to 4 years and can get permission to work part-time for up to 20 hours per week and full-time. REQUIREMENTS

To get a visa to study in New Zealand students need to meet Immigration New Zealand's requirements which are as listed below –

  • You must have an offer letter from the provider registered under NZQA which states the minimum course duration and course fee. And if course is more than one year, details of all the course's scheduled holidays
  • Must have genuine intensions to study
  • Meet health and character requirements
  • If studying multiple courses, or a single course for more than one year, you must provide evidence that you have enough money to pay tuition fees and living expenses for your first course or year of study, and also how you will pay your tuition fees and living expenses for subsequent years.
  • If you are required to do a practical work experience as part of your course in NZ, you need to provide a letter from your education provider which states that is a course requirement.
  • Must have full medical & travel insurance for the length of your stay in NZ
  • Proof you have enough money to buy a ticket out of New Zealand, in addition to the funds you have to live on
  • Confirmation all requirements under the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students are met (including accommodation for under 18-year-olds and program of study prerequisites).

Documents Required

Essential documents required for New Zealand study visa from Indian Students are as follows:

  • A valid passport
  • 4 recent passport-sized photographs
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency Results
  • Offer letter from an approved provider which states the minimum course duration and course fee. (Evidence of practical component, if course curriculum includes practical work experience)
  • Valid Medical & Travel Insurance Cover of entire duration
  • Police clearance certificate (showing no criminal records)

  • Proof of financial ability to meet the cost of living (tuition fees, travel, living expenses, and return air ticket).
  • Health/Medical Certificate by Panel Physician
  • Self- Affidavit & Identity Proofs
  • Confirmation letter which states that all requirements under the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students are met (including accommodation for under 18-year-olds and program of study prerequisites)
  • Financial Undertaking Form
  • Relationship Proofs if funds are shown by intermediate family
  • Valid credit or debit card for Visa Application Payment

The Processing Time of NZ Study Visa Application is about 6-7 weeks. And the processing fees of student visa is as follows –

Once students have a student visa, they must abide by the certain conditions during their stay.

  • Must attend the place of the study noted on their visa
  • If they have to be accompanied by a guardian, they must live with that person
  • Students should be able to show that they are doing well in their particular course

Can I work while I study?
Yes as an international student, you are allowed to work part-time in New Zealand for at least 20 hours per week while at the time of your vacation, you can work full time.
How much funds should I require to show for New Zealand Study visa?
