SUBCLASS 500 (STUDENT VISA)
If you are coming to Australia to study a course more than 3 months, it could be Independent EliCos, VET, Higher Education or Postgraduate Research you need to Apply for Student Visa under Subclass 500. As per the norms of Student Visa of Australia student can study in Australia for up to 5 years with student visa. And in order to become eligible for Student Visa you should be registered in full time course lasting duration of 18 months or more.
Visa Eligibility requirements
The student visa you need depends on your course. Here are some typical requirements:
- Receive an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) certificate for each course (if applying for more than one)
- Meet the Genuine Temporary Entrant Requirement
- Prove you have sufficient funds for airfares, course fees and living costs
- Demonstrate English language proficiency
- Meet health and character requirements
- Provide evidence of Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
- Prove you have a welfare arrangement, if you are under 18
